EPSO implements a new program to support persons on the autism spectrum

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office, on April 26, began the Autism Safety Program. This program will require a person with an autism spectrum disorder to obtain a written diagnoses from their doctor on letterhead.

Ville Platte Police Chief Al Perry Thomas reported his department is investigating a shooting that left one victim hospitalized with an injury. Chief Thomas said the call came in to police headquarters late Monday night involving a shooting at the Gabriel Villa Apartments.

Victim is identified

The victim of a fatal shooting in Ville Platte that occurred Tuesday, April 16, has been identified. Forty-year-old Christopher Guillory, according to reports, was found on the porch and full of blood after being shot multiple times at a residence on Reverend E.D. Alfred Street.

Alfred is arrested for accessory to murder

On April 16, the United States Marshal’s Service contacted the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office in reference to apprehending a fugitive wanted for accessory after the fact to second degree murder and other probation violations.
