Staff Report According to reports, an armed robbery was committed at a Ville Platte business, located on Tate Cove Road, shortly before midnight on Monday, January 8. The yet to be identified suspect allegedly entered the store and demanded money while pointing a gun at the cashier.

Crash claims life of an Oakdale resident

OAKDALE – On December 14, shortly before 7 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a two-vehicle serious injury crash on Louisiana Highway 10 about half a mile west of Beaver Road. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 75-year-old Eddie Brunson, of Oakdale.
