Arrest made in agent- involved shooting

EVANGELINE PARISH – Following the investigation into the altercation that took place on February 12, 2024, involving a Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries agent, State Police investigators have arrested 43-year-old Johnny Clark of Turkey Creek.

Pay increase is approved for chief of CPD

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Fire Chief Chris Soileau promoted and pinned Kirk Fontenot as a probationary captain of C Shift. Soileau also presented Fontenot with his new red helmet which indicates line officers. Fatal shooting is reported in Ville Platte near corner of Jackson and Chataignier

By: TONY MARKS Editor Ville Platte Police Chief Al Perry Thomas confirmed a fatal shooting in the city that claimed the life of 28-year-old Andrew Thomas. The shooting occurred on the morning of Thursday, March 7, near the intersection of North Chataignier Street and East Jackson Street.
