Williams is arrested for Mamou shooting

On November 29, at 5:21 pm, Mamou resident Jamien S. Williams, also known as Jiggy, aged 24, was apprehended by the Mamou Police Department. This arrest followed his alleged participation in a shooting incident that occurred on Sunday evening at the Mamou Superette store.

Gabriel Villa shooting claims life

By: TONY MARKS Editor A shooting that occurred over Thanksgiving weekend at Gabriel Villa apartments in Ville Platte claimed the life of an unidentified 19-year-old. According to reports, the incident happened at approximately 1:45 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, November 26.

Victims are stable after shooting

By: TONY MARKS Editor The Mamou Police Department reported two victims are in stable condition after being shot and airlifted on Tuesday, November 28. According to reports, the male and the female juveniles were shot at approximately 5 p.m.

Arrest is made for bomb threat; stolen ATV is located

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, on July 29, received a call from the Cabot Corporation advising that an unknown male contacted them by phone text messaging and indicating there was a bomb located on the property.
