EPSO investigates inappropriate behavior with juvenile

On 10-15-23, Detectives with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office received information to look into possible inappropriate behavior involving a 14-year-old juvenile female.

NARCOTIC ARREST BRIEFING

On February 20,2024, while conducting criminal patrol in the town of Mamou, Narcotic Agents observed a vehicle traveling South on Railroad Ave fail to utilized turning signals on a left turn. Narcotic Agents conducted a vehicle stop.

Att. murder suspect is arrested

A suspect wanted in connection with an attempted murder in Mamou was arrested by the Mamou Police Department on February 19. Kelsey Rochelle Mallet, 25 years old, of Port Barre, is charged with attempted first degree murder and is being held on a $750 thousand bond.

The Mamou Police Department is further actively looking for a Kelsey Rochelle Mallet, who has been charged with attempted first degree murder after an altercation which also happened on Tuesday, during the Mardi Gras festivities just before 5 p.m.

Donation is presented to EPSO

On February 5, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office was given a donation of $1,500.00 from Boardwalk/Texas Gas Pipeline Company towards the purchase of new 700 mhz portable radios. The donation was presented on February 8 by representative Brian Johnson (right) to Sheriff Guillory (left).
