Arrest is made in murder of Ardoin

Chief A. Perry Thomas reports that an arrest has been made in the shooting death of 31-year-old Cawaskee Ardoin which occurred at the Gabriel Villa Apartment Complex on the evening of April 2. Tijuan Sims, 24, turned himself into Chief Thomas on April 7.

Madrigal is convicted of rape

Evangeline Parish District Attorney Trent Brignac announced the guilty verdict of Ezra Madrigal for first degree rape of a minor under the age of 13. The four-day jury trial, which began Monday, March 31, ended on Thursday afternoon at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Shots erupt on Tuesday afternoon
