Arrest is made in theft of outboard motor

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a suspect in connection to a theft of an outboard motor. On July 18, deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence off Lanse Bleu Rd. for a theft of an outboard boat motor.

Search of storage unit leads to drug arrest

Ardoin is arrested for attempted murder

VILLE PLATTE - Ville Platte Police Chief A. Perry Thomas reports an arrest has been made in a case of attempted second degree murder, which occurred March 17, in Ville Platte.

Shooting is under investigation

VILLE PLATTE - Chief A. Perry Thomas reports that the Ville Platte Police Department is currently investigating a shooting which occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday, August 17. At that time, a 911 call was made regarding a shooting on the 200 block of East Pine Street.

Stolen vehicle is recovered in a ditch

VILLE PLATTE - Ville Platte Chief A. Perry Thomas reports that the Ville Platte Police Department recovered a 2021 black Chevrolet Tahoe that was stolen at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Friday, August 15, from the Ville Platte Walmart Parking lot on East LaSalle Street.

Chief A. Perry Thomas reports that the Ville Platte Police Department recovered a 2021 black Chevrolet Tahoe that was stolen at approximately 8:30 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2025, from the Ville Platte Walmart Parking lot on East LaSalle Street. The vehicle was recovered after 2:00 p.m.
