The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Arrested were the following persons:
•Rufus Anthony Searile, 56, Ville Platte, was arrested January 7, 2026, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for three counts of extortion. Searile was released on a $75,000.00 bond.
