Teachers of the year are honored at ceremony

Staff Report Teachers from across Evangeline Parish who soar high in nurturing excellence every day on school campuses were honored at the annual Teacher of the Year Ceremony held Tuesday, May 7, at Ville Platte High School.

By: TONY MARKS Editor HOUMA - A five-run lead was not enough for the Sacred Heart baseball squad as Covenant Christian went on a merry-go-round ride that produced seven runs on only two singles in the bottom of the fifth inning.

By: TONY MARKS Editor RESERVE - A season ago, the Sacred Heart softball team faced Riverside Academy in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs and fell 14-5. Riverside then went on to win its second consecutive state championship.
