Schedule is announced for La. Cotton Festival

Miss Amelia Mickal is the reigning Queen Cotton LXIX. She will crown her successor Saturday, September 21, at the Cotton Coronation starting at 4 p.m. at the North Side Civic Center in Ville Platte. On Friday, October 11, the festival will open with its annual “Fais-Do-Do” starting at 6 p.m.

IRF Farmer of the Year is Te-Mamou’s Fruge

LSN Staff Report CROWLEY – The 87th International Rice Festival (IRF) is proud to announce that Troy Fruge of the rural Te-Mamou community south of Basile has been named the 2024 IRF Farmer of the Year.
