The Tri-Parish workforce is down 130 people from a year ago in August and the jobless rate is up, according to the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
The workforce totaled 67,882 in August, down 130 or 0.2% from August 2023.
The August workforce counts by parish were:
St. Landry, 31,815, down 142 or 0.4% from August 2023;
Evangeline, 12,028, down 137 or 1.1% from August 2023; and
