BASILE -- On Friday afternoon, several parish track teams gathered in Basile to complete one of the last remaining track meets until the LHSAA lifts their suspension of spring sports.
MAMOU -- In one of the biggest rivalries around the area, the Mamou Lady Demons scored a 6-1 win over the Pine Prairie Lady Panthers in round one of their two district showdowns this season.
Although the weather played havoc once again this week on the LHSAA baseball and softball schedule, mother nature was kind enough to allow games to be played on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
With Ville Platte High’s loss to Brusly in the quarterfinals this past Friday night, the 2019-20 high school basketball season officially came to an end for the four schools in the parish.
The 2020 parish baseball season is now in full force, and with that all four Evangeline schools that bring a team to the diamond are expecting big things.
It was a banner last six days in the parish softball world, as three of the four schools sporting teams took home wins over that span.
