The Marks Post: It just means more... except for the oatmeal

I turned 42 back on July 14, and the week that followed could get me featured on an episode of VH1’s Best Week Ever. A homeless guy with one eye gave me a tour of Dealey Plaza. I was in the stands to see Paul Skenes retire Aaron Judge on one pitch and to see Shohei Ohtani hit a dinger.

State champs from Ville Platte compete in World Series

By: TONY MARKS Editor LAUREL, Miss. - The state champion 7U Coach Pitch All-Stars from Ville Platte competed in the Dixie Youth World Series and faced stiff competition as they fell short of their ultimate prize. The tournament opened for Ville Platte with an 11-3 loss against Prattville.

For the first time in the rich history of Ville Platte Dixie Youth Baseball, the 7U Coach Pitch All-Stars have won the state championship. The team took home the hardware after a 10-0 win over Minden in the state tournament held in Tioga. Coverage of the tournament can be found on Page 5.

Mamou Super 10s place in regionals

The Mamou Super 10 All-Stars won the District 7 tournament, which was played in Leesville from June 20 to June 23. The team then competed in the North Regional Tournament and came out in third place. That tournament was held in Alexandria from July 5 to July 8.

Ville Platte 7U claims hardware; 6U loses

By: TONY MARKS Editor TIOGA - For the first time ever, the Ville Platte 7U Coach Pitch All-Stars won the state championship. The team now heads to Laurel, Miss., for the Regional World Series, which begins July 17.

Ville Platte hosts 12U state tournament

By: TONY MARKS Editor Beginning tonight in Ville Platte, the Dixie Youth 12U All-Stars will be competing for the state title. The tournament gets kicked off at 5 p.m. as Mamou takes on Olla on Field 2. At the same time, Oakdale plays the District 2 champions on Field 4. Later tonight, at 7 p.m.

By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - In what turned out to be a best-of-three series against Lakeshore, the Ville Platte Super 10s were eliminated from the DYB South Regional. The tournament began for Ville Platte with a 12-3 win over Franklinton last Friday, on July 5.
