Ville Platte hosts DYB 10U South Regional

By: TONY MARKS Editor The Ville Platte/Evangeline Recreational Complex will play host to the Dixie Youth 10U South Regional, which begins tomorrow, July 5. The action begins at 5 p.m. as Oakdale plays North Sabine on Field 2. At the same time, on Field 4, Franklinton will play Ville Platte.
The 8U Coach Pitch All-Stars from Ville Platte are headed to the DYB State Tournament in Jackson Parish from July 11 through July 14. Ville Platte DYB 8U All-Stars win district, head to state competition

By: TONY MARKS Editor The undefeated run through this year’s Dixie Youth All-Star season continues for the Ville Platte 8U team as the boys from the Swamp Pop Capital of the World clinched the district title in Mamou last weekend.

By: HARLAN KIRGAN LSN Editor Tom Dodge, Eunice News sports editor, is being remembered as a dedicated reporter of local sports and a man with a love for his family and community. His daughter, Brandi, said he was found dead at his residence on Sunday, June 16. She did not have a cause of death.
