Moving back

With NCAA baseball unable to finish the 2020 season, several universities across the nation are worried about revenue coming into their programs. The response: a proposal by a group of coaches from the Power Five conferences to push back the start of the 2022 season to the third week of March.

Panthers pick

It’s official. The Pine Prairie Panther football program will have a new leader at the helm of the ship, as David Michael Carrell took over the title of head football coach back in February. Carrell follows outgoing head coach Yves Prince, who retired at mid-term.

LHSAA postpones summer activities until June 8th

High school sports will stay on hold for another three weeks, that according the LHSAA. On Wednesday, the LHSAA Executive committee held a Zoom meeting to receive updates and discuss logistics surrounding the summer rules encased within the LHSAA by-laws.

MLB owners approve start up plan

Major League Baseball could be on its way to returning. This past Monday, MLB owners put the finishing touches on a plan that possibly could allow the season to start during the Fourth of July weekend. The season, which was set to begin on March 26th, was put on hiatus due the coronavirus pandemic.

LSU sets date for return of athletes

If all goes according to plan, LSU student-athletes could return to campus on June 1st. Of course that move will depend on a couple of factors, the first of which will be if the Southeastern Conference lifts its suspension of activities.
