District play begins as Lady Bulldogs edge Lady Panthers

By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - A new season of sorts began on Friday, January 23, as the Ville Platte girls’ basketball team hosted the Pine Prairie Lady Panthers in the district opener for both teams.

Bulldogs outclaw Bobcats for 4-point win

By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - With a 62-58 win over the Eunice Bobcats, on Friday, January, 23, the Ville Platte Bulldogs ended a two-game losing streak and improved their record to 10-14 on the season.

SH splits roundball games against Hackberry

By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - Against visitors from Cameron Parish, the Sacred Heart basketball teams split a pair of home games on Tuesday, January 12, as the Lady Trojans lost by one-point, 42-41, to the Hackberry Lady Mustangs and the Trojans defeated the Hackberry Mustangs 60-29.

Fifth annual SH powerlifting invitational is held

By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - Area schools competed in the fifth annual Sacred Heart Invitational, held Saturday, January 10. The Mamou Lady Green Demons (117 points) and the Sacred Heart Trojans (95 points) walked away with the top trophies as team champions of the event.

Teams combine for 112 points in Lady Trojan win

By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - As two parish teams clashed on the hard court, they combined to score 112 points on Tuesday, January 6. By the time the last basket was made, Sacred Heart earned a 62-50 win over Pine Prairie.
