By: TONY MARKS Editor BELLEVUE - It was one of those nights. Westminster scored on two big plays that totaled nearly 120 yards, and Sacred Heart went 0-for-2 on touchdown attempts from inside the 20-yard line as the Trojans lost 14-7.

Bulldogs find win column on homecoming night

LSN Staff Report VILLE PLATTE - The Ville Platte Bulldogs are winless on the season no more after getting a 13-12 win over Crowley on homecoming night in the district opener for both teams. For Ville Platte head coach Roy Serie, it was big for his team to get that first win of the season.

By: TONY MARKS Editor CHURCH POINT - Two teams along La. Hwy 95 met for the 14th time last Friday night as Church Point hosted Mamou in the opener of district play for both schools.
With a 19-yard field goal, Sacred Heart’s Will Chapman gave his team a 3-0 win against Opelousas  Catholic to end a 14-game losing streak to the Vikings.

By: TONY MARKS Editor In 1996, Ecuadorian exchange student David Troya kicked a field goal in second overtime to help send Sacred Heart to a 27-21 win over Opelousas Catholic. The Trojans, since then, have been on the losing side of the ledger more times than not against the Vikings.

Southeastern Conference announces 2026-29 football opponents

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southeastern Conference on Tuesday announced the opponents and sites for SEC football games for the 2026 through 2029 seasons. The SEC announced in August it would play a nine-game conference schedule starting with the 2026 season.

By: TONY MARKS Editor PINE PRAIRIE - A season ago, a 60-6 win over the North Central Hurricanes snapped a 23-game losing streak for the Pine Prairie Panthers. However, when the two teams met this year in Pine Prairie, a 46-0 loss to the Hurricanes extended a new Panther losing streak to 10-games.

SH goes to 3-0 with win over Basile

By: DARREL LEJEUNE LSN Editor VILLE PLATTE – It was another gut punch for the Basile Bearcats on Friday night. Playing on the road at Soileau-Landry Field, the Bearcats fell 38-15 to the Sacred Heart Trojans, leaving Basile winless through the first three weeks of the season.
