Lady Panthers pick up two wins; other parish teams fall

This past Friday and Saturday, the Pine Prairie Lady Panthers pushed their overall record to 9-3 with a pair of wins over Plainview (62-58) and JS Clark (56-34).
In other parish action, the Sacred Heart Lady Trojans dropped a 50-36 game to the Opelousas Catholic Lady Vikings Friday night, while the Sacred Heart Trojans were unable to stop the offensive production of the Opelousas Catholic Vikings in a 95-60 loss.
Finally, the Pine Prairie Panthers succumbed to the Barbe Buccaneers 77-50 in a Friday night game.
Here is a rundown of those games:

Pine Prairie
vs. Plainview (G)
It was Plainview that got off to the better start, producing 17 points in the first quarter to take a four point lead over Pine Prairie.
The Lady Panthers tried to inch their way back into the game in the second quarter as Kameron Allen and Brashaylan Doucet combined for 12 points to put the score at 36-30 in favor of the Lady Hornets.
Plainview continued to out hustle Pine Prairie in the third quarter, gaining another six points in advantage. However, the Lady Panthers, behind Doucet’s nine points, blew out the Lady Hornets 25-9 down the stretch to seal the win.
Four players scored in double digits for Pine Prairie with Allen leading the way with 18 points and Doucet adding 15 points.
Asia George chipped in 14 points, while Brianna Wall scored 10 points.

Pine Prairie
vs. JS Clark
It was all Pine Prairie all night long on Saturday, as the Lady Panthers jumped out to a 19-5 lead after one quarter of play and a 28-12 lead by the end of the first half.
Pine Prairie finished the third quarter leading by 12 points, 43-31. The Lady Panthers and the Lady Bulldogs finished with the same amount of points in the final quarter, but Pine Prairie already had the game in control.
Brashaylan Doucet scored 14 points to lead the Lady Panthers.

Sacred Heart vs.
Opelousas Catholic (G)
It was a one man show for Sacred Heart, as Kali Shiver scorched the nets for 28 of the 36 points scored by the Lady Trojans.
Unfortunately, the Lady Vikings were too much in the first two quarters for Sacred Heart to overcome.
Opelousas Catholic held an 18-5 lead when the first quarter ended and a 33-9 advantage heading into the locker room.
Sacred Heart outscored OC 12-10 in the third quarter and 16-7 in the final period, but it was too little too late for the Lady Trojans.

Sacred Heart vs.
Opelousas Catholic (B)
A 28-14 lead for Opelouas Catholic after one quarter of play led to a 46-35 halftime lead. The third quarter belonged to the Vikings, as they outpaced the Trojans 29-13.
Opelousas Catholic finished off the game by garnering a 19-12 edge in the fourth period. Austin Darbonne knocked down 17 points to lead the Trojans, while Keegan McIntosh chipped in 14 points. Chase Tate added 11 points for the Trojans.

Barbe (B)
vs. Pine Prairie
Offense was a problem for Pine Prairie over the first two quarters of play, as Barbe moved out to a 22-5 lead following the conclusion of the fourth quarter and a 41-14 lead when the buzzer sounded to end the first half. The third quarter still belonged to the Buccaneers, as they gained an 18-12 advantage. The Panthers finished the game with a 24-18 advantage.
Dajon Lemalle led the way with 13 points, Lucas Ricks added 12 points and Cole Willis chipped in 10 points.
