On Monday, May 26, Memorial Day was once again observed at the Evangeline Parish Courthouse. The event was led by J.D. Soileau, president of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 632. Deacon Ben Soileau, a retired United States Air Force general, led the invocation and the benediction.

The 2025 Boggy Bayou royalty were crowned on Saturday evening March 15, at the Sherman Place Event Venue in Crooked Creek. The newly-crowned royals will reign over the 40th annual Boggy Bayou Festival, which begins in Pine Prairie today, May 8, and continues through Saturday, May 10.
