JD Bank recently donated $500 to the Mamou Cajun Music Festival, which is set for Friday, September 15, and Saturday, September 16. Highlighting the 50th edition of the festival, which is hosted by the Mamou Cajun Music Association, will be an honoree presentation to Taunte Sue at 1:30 p.m.

Funeral services for Ville Platte Deputy Marshal Barry Giglio were held on Wednesday, August 9, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Belle Chasse. Visitation preceded the funeral that morning at 9 a.m., and Deputy Giglio was buried at Lakelawn Cemetery in Metairie.
