Evangeline Parish was impacted by heavy rains that fell Tuesday, March 22. Some areas reported two inches of rainfall. The weather closed all public schools in the parish as well as Sacred Heart and closed Ville Platte City Hall. Sandbags were available in Ville Platte at several location around the city. Individuals capable of filling sandbags themselves went to the Girls and Boys Place, while those residents needing assistance went to the City Barn on Thompson Street.
