The Vietnam Veterans of America held its 34th annual State Convention from June 23 through June 25 at Coushatta Casino Resort in Kinder. Friday night featured a hospitality night, an auction, and a live band; on Saturday night, the state council held its awards banquet. VVA Chapter 632 of Ville Platte honored the following: Mable Foreman (top left photo) as AVVA of the Year, Evangeline Parish Clerk of Court Randy Deshotel (top right photo) as Friends of the VVA, and Charles “Chuck” Crenchard (bottom left photo) with a National Achievement Medal.
