On Monday, December 26, the newly-elected Mamou mayor and council members, along with the town magistrate, were sworn in during a ceremony held at the Mamou Recreational Center. In the top left photo, Leisa Deshotel is sworn in as mayor by Judge Chuck West. In the top right photo, Jacob Fusilier is sworn in as town magistrate by Judge Marcus Fontenot. In the bottom photo, from left, aldermen Ricardo “Reko” Goodley (alderman at large), Robin Young (District 4), Eugene Manuel (District 3), Brook Chapman (District 2) and Derrell “Sheaky” Thomas (District 1) were sworn in by Judge Marcus Fontenot.
