Evangeline Parish tours the state capitol

With the state legislature currently in session, Representative Rhonda Butler invited representatives from Evangeline Parish and St. Landry Parish to tour the state capitol in Baton Rouge and enjoy lunch. The group was led by a tour guide who was very informative about the history of the state and the building. Shown standing in the Senate chamber, from left, are Carlene Jones, Alisha Arvie, Adrian Giron, Tobin Deville, Connie Lamke, Dr. Gwen Fontenot (Evangeline Parish Chamber of Commerce president), Renee Brown, Debbie Lawson (legislative assistant to Representative Butler), Kayla Lazard, and Darwan Lazard (Evangeline Parish School Board superintendent). Standing in back are Chris Lamke (left) and Brian Ardoin. (Gazette photo by Heather Bogard)
