CES cheerleaders receive awards, attend cheer camp

On July 11 through July 13, the Chataignier Elementary Cheerleaders along with Coach Tonya Ortego, attended a cheer camp hosted by the Ville Platte High School Varsity Bulldog Cheerleaders and Coach Charlie Sonnier. The CES cheerleaders learned technique skills, chants, and stunting from the VPHS squad. During their down time, the girls enjoyed competing in challenges and fun games with the Bulldog cheerleaders. On the last day of camp, a “Showcase” was held where parents and family were invited to see what the CES cheerleaders had learned. During the showcase, the CES cheerleaders wore their new uniforms, and the new mascot “Tate da Tiger” was introduced. Awards were given out to (pictured in the top photo in no particular order) Brooklynn Brown- Most Spirited, Jordyn Manuel- Best Jumps, Elijah Williams- Most Improved, and Willinesha Frank- Tiger Pride award.
