Ville Platte Police Department’s Sergeant Darrian Guillory was selected as one of only 10 officers in the State of Louisiana to receive the Beyond the Badge Award. She was presented the award during the Heart of Law Enforcement awards which were held Tuesday, March 18, in Baton Rouge with keynote speaker, Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. The mission of Beyond the Badge is to educate the public about ordinary law enforcement officers performing extraordinary acts of kindness in their communities throughout Louisiana. BTB recognizes a select group of officers nominated by the public or agencies at its annual Heart of Law Enforcement Recognition Ceremony. This year, Sergeant Guillory was one of those select officers who went above and beyond to make her community better.
