Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office releases the following:
On June 6, 2024 at approximately 2:05 pm Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office initiated
a pursuit at mile marker 45 North on Interstate I49 in Evangeline Parish. The vehicle, a 2018 Nissan
Ultima, driven by Patrick Hundley of Gretna, was heading North bound on I49 when he decided to flee
from the Deputies at 130mph. After running off the roadway several times and nearly striking
numerous vehicles, including one of the Deputies units he continued to flee. Hundley exited at the
Highway 167 exit at over 100 mph. When he came up to the intersection, he locked up his breaks
causing his vehicle to leave the roadway and became airborne striking the embankment on the side of
the roadway. His vehicle came to rest and Hundley attempted to flee on foot. Deputies were able to
apprehend Hundley after a short foot pursuit. Hundley was in possession of over 38 grams of
Marijuana, and $979 dollars of real money. He also had $710 of counterfeit money in his pants pocket.
After a search of the vehicle there was equipment found that would he was allegedly printing
counterfeit $50- and $20-dollar bills. Also, they had several counterfeit bills found inside the vehicle.
Equipment seized were a computer, printer, ink cartridges, printing paper, hair spray, $979 in real
money, and 38.1 grams of Marijuana. His bond was set at $70,500 and has a hold for outstanding
Warrants out of New Orleans.
