The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Arrested were the following persons:
• Tavier Malik Fontenot, 23, Opelousas, was arrested February 7, 2024, by the Basile Police Department for manufacture, distribute, or possess with intent to distribute schedule I CDS; possession of schedule IV CDS; and violation of uniform CDS law in a drug free zone. Fontenot was released on a $15,000.00 bond.
• Braylon Renard Wilson, 20, Ville Platte, was arrested February 8, 2024, by the Ville Platte Police Department for second degree murder, attempted first degree murder (two counts), flight from an officer - aggravated flight from an officer, principal to illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentality, and possession of CDS schedule I. Wilson remains incarcerated on a $4,357,500.00 bond.
• Dennis James Jones, 31, Ville Platte, was arrested February 7, 2024, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear for court. Jones was released on no bond.
• Jeremie Lee Fontenot, 28, Ville Platte, was arrested February 9, 2024, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for battery of a dating partner with child endangerment. Fontenot remains incarcerated on a $1,000.00 bond.
• Dusty Lee Bordelon, 57, Mamou, was arrested February 9, 2024, by the Mamou Police Department for illegal carrying of weapons, aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of firearm; alcoholic outlet, and two counts of failure to appear for court. Bordelon was released on a $40,000.00 bond.
• Luke James Lane Manuel, 21, Lake Charles, was arrested February 11, 2024, by the Mamou Police Department for theft of a motor vehicle, possession of schedule II CDS, and reckless operation of a motor vehicle. Manuel remains incarcerated on a $46,500.00 bond.
