Staff Report
According to reports, an armed robbery was committed at a Ville Platte business, located on Tate Cove Road, shortly before midnight on Monday, January 8.
The yet to be identified suspect allegedly entered the store and demanded money while pointing a gun at the cashier. After taking the money from the cashier, the suspect exited the business and crashed through a nearby fence while leaving the premises.
No customers were in the store during the armed robbery, and no injuries were reported.
The store remained closed until it reopened on Tuesday morning.
