The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Arrested were the following persons:
• Cordez S. Thomas, 27, Ville Platte, was arrested November 30, 2023, by the Ville Platte City Marshal’s Office for failure to appear for court. Thomas was released on no bond.
• Joshua Scott Dubroc, 30, Kinder, was arrested December 1, 2023, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for possession of a firearm with certain CDS offenses or while committing a crime of violence, possession with intent to distribute schedule II narcotics, possession of CDS schedule IV, and four counts of possession of schedule II CDS. Dubroc remains incarcerated on a $95,000.00 bond.
• Chance Bushnell, 35, Basile, was arrested December 3, 2023, by the Basile Police Department for possession with intent to distribute schedule II narcotics, use or possess to use drug paraphernalia, and violation of uniform CDS law in a drug free zone. Bushnell remains incarcerated on a $27,500.00 bond.
• Derrick Guillot, 26, Ville Platte, was arrested December 2, 2023, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for simple battery of the infirm. Guillot remains incarcerated on a $2,500.00 bond.
• Brandon Ceaser, 42, Basile, was arrested December 3, 2023, by the Basile Police Department for two counts of manufacture, distribute, or possess with intent to distribute schedule I CDS and violation of uniform CDS law in drug free zone. Ceaser remains incarcerated on no bond.
• Sonia Marie Paul, 22, Mamou, was arrested December 4, 2023, by the Mamou Police Department for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Paul was released on a $1,500.00 bond.
• Martin Peter Johnson, 44, Ville Platte, was arrested December 4, 2023, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for theft; flight from an officer; possession of schedule II CDS; use or possess to use drug paraphernalia; resisting an officer; simple burglary general; sale, distribution, or possession of legend drug without prescription or order; and manufacture, distribute, or possess with intent to distribute schedule I CDS. Johnson remains incarcerated on a $67,000.00 bond.
• Joseph Julian Brignac, 29, Ville Platte, was arrested December 5, 2023, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for domestic abuse battery with child endangerment. Brignac remains incarcerated on no bond.
• Remonna T. Johnson, 40, Ville Platte, was arrested December 5, 2023, by the Ville Platte City Marshal’s Office for flight from an officer - aggravated flight from an officer, resisting an officer, and domestic abuse battery with child endangerment. Johnson was released a $25,000.00 bond.
• Elizabeth Skii Edmond, 42, Ville Platte, was arrested December 5, 2023, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for possession of schedule II CDS and possession of schedule IV CDS. Edmond remains incarcerated on a $20,000.00 bond.
