On September 12, 2023, the Evangeline Parish Criminal Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop on the Lithcote Rd. in reference to a traffic violation. When speaking with the driver of the vehicle, Deputies were granted permission to search the vehicle. During that time, Deputies located approximately 67.9 grams of methamphetamine and 0.5 grams of fentanyl.
The driver / suspect (Casey Tate W/M DOB 08/19/1988 of Ville Platte) was arrested and booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail for felony possession of methamphetamine and felony possession of fentanyl. His bond was set at $175,000.00.

On September 13, 2023, the Evangeline Parish Criminal Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop on Highway 95 in reference to a traffic violation. During the stop, Deputies noticed the driver to be extremely nervous and had a felony warrant for possession of schedule II narcotics. As a result of the driver's actions, Deputies asked the driver if they can search the vehicle for any illegal narcotics. When the driver refused, the Sheriff's Office K-9 was deployed and alerted to the vehicle for illegal narcotics.
When searching the vehicle, Deputies located approximately 42.6 grams of Methamphetamine. The driver / suspect (Jacob Perron W/M DOB 01/23/1992 of Mamou) was arrested and booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail for Possession and Distribution of Methamphetamine. His bond was set at $35,000.00.

On September 12, 2023, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Criminal Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Regal Rd. and Perron Rd. in reference to a traffic violation. During the stop, Deputies asked the driver if he had any illegal narcotics inside of his vehicle. The driver stated that he has a bag in the rear seat of his vehicle containing marijuana. Deputies were subsequently given permission to search the vehicle.
At that point, Deputies located the bag and learned that it contained approximately 95 grams of Marijuana. The driver (Mark Owen B/M DOB 12/15/1974 of Opelousas) was placed under arrest and booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail for Possession and Distribution of Marijuana. His bond was set at $25,000.00.

On September 1, 2023, the Evangeline Parish Criminal Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop on the Vidrine Rd. in reference to a traffic violation. During the stop, Deputies deployed the K-9 due to the driver being a known narcotics user and being extremely nervous.
While the K-9 was deployed, he gave an alert that there was illegal narcotics within the vehicle. After the K-9 alerted, the Deputies on scene conducted a search of the vehicle. During the search, Deputies located approximately 13.01 grams of methamphetamine, 1.1 grams of fentanyl, .5 grams of heroin, and two clonazepam pills. The driver of the vehicle (Jason Richard W/M DOB 03/01/1972 of Mamou) was booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail for Possession of Heroin, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession and Distribution of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Clonazepam. His bond was set at $40,000.00.
The passenger of the vehicle (Dalana Granger W/F DOB 11/26/1990 of Mamou) was also booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail for Possession and Distribution of Methamphetamine and Possession of Clonazepam. Her bond was set at $28,500.00.

On September 22, 2023, the Evangeline Parish Criminal Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of East Hickory and Lithcote Rd. in reference to a traffic violation. When speaking with the driver, Deputies located a small amount of marijuana on the floor board of the vehicle in plain view. As a result, Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle.
During the search, Deputies located a .22 caliber firearm, along with a prescription bottle with no label containing approximately 12 amphetamine / dextroamphetamine pills. The driver / suspect (Kenneth Fontenot W/M DOB 09/19/1963 of Ville Platte) was arrested and booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail for Felony Possession of Schedule II Narcotics, Simple Possession of Marijuana, and Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. His bond was set at $10,000.00.
