According to Ville Platte Chief of Police Al Perry Thomas, Jared Lee Delvon Freeman is in custody after being extradited from Los Angeles, Calif.
Authorities from the city returned with the suspect on Saturday, September 30. On the following day, he was booked into the parish jail for second degree murder.
Freeman was wanted in connection with the murder of Vonshonskee “Shonskee” Charles. He is being held on a $5 million bond.
Shawn L. Thomas (DOB: December 9, 1995) turned himself into the Ville Platte Police Department on September 5, for an arrest warrant alleging that he was in violation of second degree murder/ accessories after the fact in connection with the same incident. Thomas currently has a bond set at $252,000.00.
Three other subjects were identified as suspects in the matter which occurred on August 29.
