The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Arrested were the following persons:
• Jason Lynn Richard, 51, Mamou, was arrested September 30, 2023, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear for court. Richard was released on no bond.
• Jared Lee Freeman, 31, Ville Platte, was arrested October 1, 2023, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for second degree murder. Freeman remains incarcerated on a $5,000,000.00 bond.
• Joseph Kross Fontenot, 25, Mamou, was arrested October 2, 2023, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for domestic abuse battery with child endangerment. Fontenot was released on a $25,000.00 bond.
• Jessica Lynn Goodwill, 40, Ville Platte, was arrested October 3, 2023, by the Ville Platte Police Department for eight counts of failure to appear for court. Goodwill remains incarcerated on a $5,000.00 bond.
• Malik Rashwanski Moton, 21, Mamou, was arrested October 2, 2023, by the Mamou Police Department for second degree murder. Moton was released on a $500,000.00 bond.
