Guilty verdict is returned

The Evangeline Parish District Attorney’s Office has announced Joshua James Broussard was convicted of attempted possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after a three-day trial that ended Wednesday, September 20. Broussard will be sentenced on Thursday, December 14, before the honorable Judge Marcus L. Fontenot. District Attorney Trent Brignac would like to thank all the jurors for their service to the criminal justice system. Brignac also complimented the efforts of Assistant District Attorneys Justin Bo West, Deidra Godfrey, and CJ Hesnor, along with the support staff, for their thorough preparation and presentation of the case.
