Shots rang out at a residence located in the East Side Subdivision, outside of Ville Platte, on the afternoon of Thursday, August 31. Sheriff Charles Guillory reported nobody was injured.
After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene on a motorcycle. Two other unidentified vehicles also left the scene.
According to the sheriff, the suspect on the motorcycle then led authorities on a 30-40-minute long pursuit through Ville Platte. The motorcycle was travelling approximately 80 miles per hour.
The suspect was eventually seen entering a housing unit located behind the Lincoln Road Fire Station. He was then apprehended inside one of the apartments and currently is in custody. Charges were pending as of press time.
The matter remains under investigation, and the sheriff’s office is looking for the identity of the other two drivers.
