The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Arrested were the following persons:
• Wonhassas Perez Fontenot, 41, Lake Charles, was arrested August 25, 2023, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear for court and probation violation. Fontenot remains incarcerated on a $750.00 bond.
• Jeremiah Vernon Hazelton, 37, Ville Platte, was arrested August 25, 2023, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for illegal carrying/ discharge of weapons, possession of firearm by a felon, disturbing the peace, tampering with monitoring system, and battery of a correctional facility employee while incarcerated. Hazelton was released on a $500.00 bond.
• Justin Vidrine, 24, Ville Platte, was arrested August 27, 2023, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for DWI 1st and improper lane usage. Vidrine was released on no bond.
