Theft of fishing gear leads to arrest

On December 3, 2022, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of multiple thefts that have been
occurring from the exterior to a residence located at the 1000 Blk. of Black Lake Rd. within the unincorporated area of
St. Landry. During the investigations it was learned through witnesses that the suspect Damian Jeamard Franks W/M
DOB 12/30/1983 out of St. Landry La. took tools, fishing gear, and other miscellaneous items. The approximate value of
the stolen items is valued at over $8000.00. The suspect was later booked into the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office Jail
for Felony Theft and Criminal Trespassing. This investigation is still pending and more arrested are anticipated.
