The late Horace Fontenot, the previous Le Roi, (left) and the late Anna Siffert, the previous La Reine (right) are pictured. Fontenot was a native of Ville Platte. He had five children, 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was a pipeline worker and is an Army veteran. He enjoyed sitting outdoors and group activities. His parents farmed cotton, corn, and potatoes. Siffert was a Ville Platte native. She had two children, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was a telephone operator and was interested in yard work, games, parties, religious events, and community outings. She had worked as a bookkeeper for a cotton gin owned by her aunt and uncle. A new Le Roi et La Reine will be crowned Tuesday, October 11. (Gazette file photo)
