Floyd Soileau and Randel Chapman each presented a check to the City of Ville Platte for the payment of the construction costs of a handicap ramp at the Ville Platte Civic Center. The ramp was completed in time for the use at this year’s Swamp Pop Reunion Dance. Swamp Pop singer-performer legend T.K. Hulin was the first handicap user to get on stage with his deluxe battery wheel chair that he is confined to for his performances. Others bringing heavy sound equipment on and off the stage welcomed the new ramp as well as will other users of the civic center in the future.
