State receives “hot foods” waiver after Hurricane Ida

BATON ROUGE - Louisiana participants in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) can use their benefits to purchase “hot” or prepared foods through September 28, 2021, following a waiver from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service (FNS).

COVID sick leave is extended

With COVID-19 surging, the Evangeline Parish School Board Executive Committee voted to extend COVID sick leave by five days for all employees. The federal government ended COVID sick days on December 31, 2020, and the school board extended those days until June 30, 2021.
