One perk of this job is that I get approved to cover LSU football games. As a result, I get to eat hot dogs with the big shots in the press box. It’s a tough life. But, every now and then, I like to remember my roots and watch a game with the bourgeoisie in the stands.

Chief A. Perry Thomas reports that approximately a half hour after midnight on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, a late model, dark gray GMC Sierra with a personalized Army plate was used to break into Tobacco Plus, located at 1021 E. Main St.

By: TONY MARKS Editor This time of year is a time of showing gratitude. For Sheriff Charles Guillory, he is especially grateful this year that one of his big projects will soon be completed. Sheriff Guillory stated he hopes to be moved into the new parish jail by January.

We hope everyone had an amazing time with family over the Thanksgiving holidays! The Evangeline Parish Library and all branch locations will be closed on Wednesday, December 3, in the morning for a manager’s meeting. We will reopen at noon.
