Linden Martin, a lifelong resident of Turkey Creek, has been chosen as the grand marshal of the Turkey Creek Christmas Parade. He is described as a godly man who has always offered to help anyone in need. The parade is set for Saturday, December 13, at 11 a.m.

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
THE OLD MCCLELLAND FARM - This aerial shot of the McClelland Farm in rural Evangeline Parish was taken approximately 50 years ago. The home pictured was the second on site and was sold and moved into the town of Basile years ago. All of the outlying buildings shown have been demolished and replaced, but the oak trees shown (planted in 1922) still stand.
