The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. Arrested were the following persons: • Garret Paul Mire, 28, Ville Platte, was arrested December 20, 2021, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for interruption of any lawful assembly.

Chataignier to consider raising sewage rates

Chataignier Mayor Justin Darbonne does not want to raise the sewage rates, but they may have to be raised because the sewage department is operating at roughly a $1 thousand shortfall each month. During the council meeting held Monday, December 13, the mayor broke down the sewage costs.
