Traffic stops continue to yield drug arrests

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments Narcotics Unit, on Sunday, February 13, conducted a traffic stop on vehicle for a traffic violation. Agents then conducted an interview with the occupants and located narcotics.

Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday, January 25, were dispatched to the 1000 block of Peach Tree Ln. in reference to a residence that was hit by gunfire, nearly hitting one of the victims inside of the residence.

• Casey Lane Tate, 33, Ville Platte, was arrested February 9, 2022, by Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for schedule II - prohibited acts, possession of CDS schedule I, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Tate remains incarcerated on a $30,500.00 bond.

Boggy Bayou Pageants to be held April 30

The Boggy Bayou Youth and Queens Pageant will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022, at The Sherman Place Event Venue in Ville Platte. Doors will open at 8 a.m. Admission is $5. Everyone pays except the contestant. Children ages 4 and under are free.
