Boggy Bayou Pageants to be held April 30

The Boggy Bayou Youth and Queens Pageant will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022, at The Sherman Place Event Venue in Ville Platte.
Doors will open at 8 a.m. Admission is $5. Everyone pays except the contestant. Children ages 4 and under are free.
Dress Attire for ages 0-8 is Sunday best, please no sandals. **Smock/Bishop style outfits are not required and contestants will not lose points if they are not wearing smock/bishop style.**
Dress Attire for ages 9 and up is formal wear. **Any color floor-length gown. **
Interview Attire: Teen Miss (interview is new for the teen contestants. This will simply be an introduction to interviews and will only consist of two questions from the judges.), Ms., and Miss is festival t-shirt (Teen Miss, Ms. and Miss will receive once entry fee is paid), nice denim jeans (no distressed or rips), heels (no open toe shoes, color can be nude or any color complimentary to your festival shirt).
Interview location will be disclosed to Teen Miss, Ms. and Miss contestants only once their entries are paid. Interviews will be closed to the public. No family members will be allowed insided the interview location, absolutely no exceptions.
Entry Fee for Baby Miss through Teen Miss catgories is $45 and includes all side awards. Sibling Discount: 2 or more children in the same household $40.00 entry fee.
Entry Fee Miss and Ms. categories is $65 (this includes a festival t-shirt to be worn for the interview). Ladies get your entries in early so you can receive your shirt and bling it out to show your personality! Please keep it tasteful with no midriffs and no cut off sleeves. No late entries will be accepted for Teen Miss, Ms. or Miss divisions.
Awards: All age groups will have a queen and first runner up. If we have four or more in an age division, a second runner up will be added.
Side Awards available for Baby Miss through Junior Miss include Photogenic, Best Fashion, Prettiest Eyes, and Prettiest Hair.
Director’s Choice: Impress the Director with your overall pageant appearance! She will go by each age division.
Age Divisions and Registration Time are as follows:

Registration will be held at 8:30 am, with stage time beginning at 9 a.m. for the Baby, Toddler, Mini and Tiny divisions.
Baby, Toddler, Mini and Tiny Miss/Mr divisions are divided as follows:
Baby Miss and Mister: 0-12 months
Toddler Miss: 13 - 23 months
Toddler Mister: 13 months - 3 yrs
Mini Miss: 2 years
Tiny Miss: 3-4 years
Registration will be held at 10:30 a.m., with stage time beginning at 11 a.m. for the Petite, Little, Deb and Junior divisions. The divisions are divided as follows:
Petite Miss: 5-6 years
Little Miss: 7-8 years
Deb Miss: 9-11 years
Junior Miss: 12-13 years
Registration will be held at 1p.m., with interviews at 1:30 p.m. and stage time at 5:30 p.m. for the Teen Miss, Ms. and Miss divisions.
Teen contestants will give an introduction on stage. You must include in your introduction your name and contestant number.
Teen Miss: 14-16 years of age: The new Teen Miss Queen is contracted and required to represent the Boggy Bayou Festival at all Evangeline Parish Festivals/Queens Pageants, visit the Prairie Manor Nursing Home as often as possible, and be present at the Boggy Bayou Festival May 12-14, 2022, and May 11-13, 2023.
Ms. and Miss Contestants will be required to give a catchy introduction on stage. Make sure it includes your name, contestant number, festival dates and location.
Ms. Boggy Bayou Festival Queen must be 18 yrs of age or older: The new Ms. Queen must be married or divorced with or without children or single with children to qualify to compete. The New Ms. Queen is contracted and required to represent the Boggy Bayou Festival at all Evangeline Parish festivals/Queens Pageants, travel throughout the State representing for a whole year, visit the Prairie Manor Nursing Home as often as possible and, be present at the Boggy Bayou Festival May 12-14, 2022, and May 11-13, 2023.
Miss Boggy Bayou Festival Queen must be 17-23 years of age. The New Miss Boggy Bayou Festival Queen must have never been married nor have any children. The new Miss Queen is contracted and required to represent the Boggy Bayou Festival in at least ten LAFF affiliated festivals and events throughout her reign, attend the LAFF Convention and compete in the LAFF Queen’s Pageant in Baton Rouge on February 23-26, 2023, visit Prairie Manor Nursing Home as often as possible, and be present at the Boggy Bayou Festival May 12-14, 2022, and May 11-13, 2023. The new Miss Queen also receives her entry and rooming paid for to LAFF 2023 pageant and convention. She will receive a $500 scholarship to be awarded at the end of her reign at the 2023 Boggy Bayou Queens pageant, a 10-inch customized crown, which she is responsible for should any damage occur, banner, scepter and the official Boggy Bayou Queen’s train and mantle. The crown, scepter, and train and mantle are to be returned at the end of the Miss queen’s reign.
Our Teen Miss, Miss and Ms. are contracted titles! All three queens must sign their contracts before leaving the pageant Saturday night.
All Youth royalty is expected to be at the Boggy Bayou Festival for the official crowning ceremony on Saturday May 14, 2022.
It is at the director’s discretion if late and/or door entries are accepted.
If door/late entries are accepted, there will be a late fee of $5 added to the entry fee, making entry $50. No late entries will be allowed for Teen Miss, Ms. and Miss divisions.
The director holds the right to move contestants up or down in the age category as she chooses if needed due to a lack of contestants.
Score sheets and comments will be available via email or text message within two weeks of the pageant.

Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated! All decisions are final and anyone showing poor sportsmanship will be asked to leave with no refund!

If you are participating in the side awards, you will need to bring at Least a 5x7 photo of your child for the judges on the day of the pageant.
