Staff Report An escaped prisoner has been apprehended, according to a release from the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office. Joseph Jermaine Charles walked away from the Evangeline Parish Jail while working on a clean-up detail crew as a trustee around 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 16.

Staff Report Suspects allegedly involved in a drive-by shooting in Mamou have been identified, according to the Mamou Police Department.

Mayor Quint West told the council the village applies for that grant each year and that the funds are used for drainage.

T.C. will now lease police units
