Fatality is reported after vehicle accident

Staff Report Ville Platte Police Chief Neal Lartigue reports a vehicle accident with injuries and one fatality. On Wednesday, June 1, at approximately 7:15 p.m., officers with the Ville Platte Police Department responded to the intersection of U.S. Hwy 167 and Freddie Dunn Street.

LaFleur is arrested for monetary instrument abuse

Staff Report Twenty eight-year-old Beau Alexander LaFleur, of Ville Platte, is in jail after allegedly stealing an approximate $600 thousand in checks from the U.S. Postal Service in the Lafayette area.
