VP juvenile is caught

The suspect allegedly involved in a shooting last Friday in Ville Platte at the intersection of Coreil Street and Magnolia Street was apprehended without incident on Thursday, May 18, at the Ville Platte High School graduation.

Graduations begin today for public schools

Book to be released Saturday at Library Fest

By: HEATHER BOGARD Associate Editor Local author Chris Fontenot’s latest novel “Class of ‘69” is a historical fiction based on the Sacred Heart School fire of 1968. This is his 11th book and will be officially released at the Evangeline Parish Library Book Fest on Saturday, May 20.

An investigation by the Mamou Police Department lead to the arrest of Jaziah Skinner, 15, of VillePlatte for Attempted Second Degree Murder and Vindezz Thibodeaux, 22, of Eunice, for Principle to Attempted Second Degree Murder.
