The Tri-Parish workforce dropped by 740 to 68,234 people in July, according to data released by the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics. In the same report released by the Louisiana Workforce Commission, unemployment rates remained at historic lows in statistics not adjusted for season factors.

LSP investigates after videos surface

By: TONY MARKS Editor Louisiana State Police has launched an investigation into the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office after multiple videos surfaced online of deputies abusing inmates. According to reports, inmates can be seen as they are slapped, slammed on a desk, choked, and maced.
