President Biden is sick
The 78-year-old President of the United States, Joe Biden, is not well. He is suffering from an obvious mental decline. Americans are not sure of his exact condition because he has not released any mental competency test results. When he was asked about it during the presidential campaign, he responded in anger and accused the news reporter who posed the question of being a “junkie.”
At the Library
Summer Reading really and truly begins this week all over the parish! The Bar None Ranch Pony and Petting Zoo will be on site at the following locations with lots of animals to pet and a saddled horse for rides! The first date and location is Wednesday, June 9, at the Ville Platte Main library from 2 to 4 p.m., on Tuesday, June 15, they’ll be at the Turkey Creek Branch from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and later at the Mamou branch from 2 to 4 p.m., and the last date and location is on Thursday, June 24, at the Basile branch library from 10 a.m. to noon. If you can’t make it to one location, please visit one of the others. If you love it, visit all locations in June! Free admission is offered
BATON ROUGE — As part of an effort to Bring Back Louisiana Summer and encourage people to go Sleeves Up and get their COVID-19 shots, free admission to Louisiana state parks is being offered now for anyone who has been vaccinated, Gov. John Bel Edwards and Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser announced today. Vaccinated individuals can gain free entry into all of Louisiana’s 21 State Parks through July 31. This offer is available to all visitors from Louisiana and elsewhere who have been vaccinated, no matter when they got their shot. This offer does not extend to tour groups.

After almost two months, we only have one week left to complete our work before the legislative session adjourns. While our work here is important and I enjoy representing you in Baton Rouge, I can’t wait to get back to District 28 and spend time with you in the communities we call home.
Cloud receives special plaque
TURKEY CREEK – Senator Heather Cloud, Louisiana District 28, will proudly be displaying a new plaque in her Baton Rouge office, which was made by ag students at Oakdale High School. Cloud received the new plaque in the shape of the state she represents from students enrolled in the ag program on Friday, May 28, at her office in Turkey Creek.
Turkey Creek is set to hold first annual Back to School Bash
Turkey Creek Police department would like to give back to the community by sponsoring a fun day and Back to School Bash. Events will include water slides, a dunking booth to dunk the officers, BBQ burgers and hotdogs, a DJ, face painting, K-9 demonstrations, fire trucks by Ward Five Fire Department, and coloring books donated by the Village of Turkey Creek. This event is free to the public, and the village would like to thank the community for coming together to make this happen.
