Early voting is set for upcoming election

Early voting for the April 27 election will begin Saturday, April 13, and end on Saturday, April 20. Early voting will not be conducted on Sunday, April 14. Early voting will be conducted at the registrar’s office between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Fontenot pleads guilty as jury selection begins

Evangeline Parish District Attorney Trent Brignac announced Richard Martin Fontenot pleaded guilty to one count of battery of a dating partner by strangulation after the district attorney’s office prevailed in a series of pretrial motions. Richard was arrested September 19, 2023.

EVANGELINE PARISH - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced that beginning Tuesday, April 2, 2024 construction will begin on an $8.5 million dollar project on La. 106 from La. 10 to La. 13 in Evangeline Parish.
