Soileau is named new director of LUS Fiber

Bryon Scott Johnson, locally known in our community as Scotty, was raised in Bayou Chicot along with his seven siblings by his mother, Bit Self, and his late father, Clyde Johnson, Sr. At the age of 19, he married his childhood sweetheart, Lisa Deville, a native of Pine Prairie.

Causey closes out festival

Local talent Trevor Causey will close out the entertainment at this year’s Boggy Bayou Festival. He will take the stage at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 11. Festival entertainment will begin on Thursday, May, 9, at 6:30 p.m. with a performance from the Oakdale Pentecostals.

Boggy Bayou Festival Parade is announced

Miss Boggy Bayou Festival Kale Cloud and the festival board have announced the Boggy Bayou Festival Parade, which is presented by the 2024 royalty. Everyone is welcome to participate. The parade is set for Friday, May 10, at 12:30 p.m. with lineup at noon.
